Saskatchewan Duck Hunting

Saskatchewan is known as the duck factory of North America and the central flyway is the flight path that will see all species of ducks. At Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting we hunt mostly dry fields in layout or A frame blinds for puddle ducks like mallards, pintails, northern shovelers, widgeon, blue/green wing teal and gadwall. What we do for our hunters is get those ducks cupped up and feet down right in front of you.

Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting is located lake side which provides us the opportunity to also target diver ducks like buffalohead, Goldeneyes, Canvasback, Redheads, ring neck and bluebills. Shooting over water is a different experience that can provide you the opportunity for species not found in fields.

Saskatchewan duck hunting can be experienced from September 1 until December when we freeze up.

Saskatchewan Goose Hunting

Goose hunting in Saskatchewan depending on the species targeted can be productive from September 1 to December 1. We start the season hunting groups of local resident geese and sustain thru fall as the migration builds then get eventually frozen out in December.

Saskatchewan Canada Goose Hunting

Being located on Last Mountain Lake our early season kicks of resident local Greater Canadas. We pattern these birds as the crops come off in August and watch the groups build as new migrators come thru. We hunt in layout or A frame blinds with full body decoys out front and the calls honking to draw them in.

Saskatchewan Snow Goose Hunting

The central flyway is definitely a major corridor for the snow goose migration. We have snow geese, blue snows and ross geese in astonishing numbers. AT Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting we run large snow geese spreads with all the motion decoys you can imagine to draw the white tornado down upon you. We advise to bring a minimum 3 boxes of shells on these hunts because of the amount of shooting will occur. Snow geese hunts often produces limits of ducks ,as well we commonly see Specklebelly geese migrating with the white geese.

Saskatchewan Specklebelly Goose hunting

Specklebelly are also referred to as white fronted geese are a species. We find specklebelly with all the migrators in our spreads. Often we harvest specklebelly with snow geese and ducks, we commonly get them in our sandhill crane spreads as well. A beautiful goose and one of the best eating.

Saskatchewan Sandhill Crane Hunting

Referred to as the ribeye of the sky, a Saskatchewan sandhill crane hunting is something every waterfowler should experience. Not only the very best waterfowl to eat but without doubt the prehistoric bird is one of the most exhilarating hunts to experience. At Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting we hunt sandhill crane in dry fields in layouts or A frame blinds with decoys out front. The call of a sandhill crane is unique and at Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting we have mastered calling and decoying these birds to land right at your feet. All our guest enjoy hunting sandhill crane and equally enjoy eating them.

Last Mountain Lake is North Americas oldest bird sanctuary in part due to the sandhill crane migration. We see thousands of birds in the field making for some of the best hunting that can be found anywhere. If this is a hunt you need to experience come early season when they are in their peak migration, you won’t regret.

Saskatchewan Upland Hunting

If all the amazing Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting hasn’t worn you out we also offer exceptional upland hunting. The upland birds we hunt are wild Hungarian Grey Partridge and sharptail grouse, we can release ringneck pheasant upon request. The area we hunt has an extremely strong upland bird population, and with our pointing dogs we can offer world class wing shooting. Limiting out on a morning waterfowl hunt that is topped of with an afternoon of upland hunting is something unique to Saskatchewan Fowlers Outfitting. After a few miles walked behind the pointers the chicken/upland pot pie taste so great.

Fishing

If cast and blast is of interest we highly suggest trying some fishing on Last Mountain Lake. Last Mountain Lake is known as one of North Americas premier trophy walleye lakes . If you want a walleye over 30 inches this is the lake to pursue that dream. Last mountain lake not only has trophy walleye we have pike, yellow perch, burbot, whitefish and carp. A fish fry is always a big hit at the lodge with the hunters. Our lodge is lake front and we have our own private boat launch which makes angling trips breeze.
